Our Story
Born From a Burden, Built on Faith
The Gift House began with a simple conviction: every woman deserves a safe place to heal. Since 2018, we have walked alongside women in recovery — offering not just a roof, but a community, a purpose, and a path forward.
How We Started
A Vision That Became a Home
The Gift House was founded in 2018 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, in response to a growing need for structured, faith-based recovery housing for women. Our founders saw women leaving treatment programs with nowhere safe to go — no stable housing, no community, no support system to help them stay sober.
What started as a single home has grown into a KYARR-certified recovery residence that has served dozens of women and their families. We are not a treatment center — we are a home. A place where women can do the hard work of recovery surrounded by people who believe in them.
Our Christ-centered approach means we integrate faith, community, and accountability into every aspect of life at The Gift House. We believe lasting recovery is possible, and we have seen it happen again and again in the lives of the women we serve.
KYARR Certified
A Standard of Excellence
The Gift House is proud to be certified by the Kentucky Association of Recovery Residences (KYARR). KYARR certification means our home meets rigorous standards for safety, structure, peer support, and program quality. It is a mark of accountability to the women we serve and the communities we are part of.
Mission & Vision
What We Believe
Mission
"To provide a safe, structured, Christ-centered home where women in recovery can rebuild their lives, restore their relationships, and rediscover their God-given purpose."
Vision
"A community where no woman faces recovery alone — where every woman who walks through our doors finds the support, accountability, and hope she needs to build a life she loves."
Faith
We believe healing begins with hope, and hope is rooted in faith. Our program integrates spiritual growth as a foundation for lasting recovery.
Community
Recovery is not a solo journey. We build a family of women who hold each other accountable, celebrate each other's wins, and carry each other's burdens.
Accountability
Structure and accountability are not punishments — they are gifts. Clear expectations and consistent support help women build the habits that sustain sobriety.
Dignity
Every woman who comes to us is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and unconditional positive regard.
Restoration
We believe in second chances — and third, and fourth. Our goal is not just sobriety but full restoration: relationships, purpose, and a future.
Excellence
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of care, safety, and program quality — including KYARR certification — because our women deserve nothing less.
